This gracious double storey villa has an atmosphere of Indian Ocean island-style, hidden unexpectedly behind a garden gate and lush green lawns beyond the wide verandah and elegant shuttered façade. Equally unexpected is a central conservatory within inside that frames fine mountain views and allows light to stream into the library. The library is a rare darker hideaway in an otherwise predominantly white house; a delightfully cosy place to rest in the leather armchairs and soak up the sun’s rays at either late afternoon or in the early morning. Orchids, an array of reading matter and scented candles add to the restful ambience.

Off the entrance hall is a separate living room with comfortable plush sofas, an inviting fireplace feature and plasma television screen while on the other side of the hall is a dining area with a 10-seater dining table. This leads to the compact full-specification modern kitchen. Both the dining area and lounge lead out through double patio doors to the lush green garden and large blue pool.

The interiors are decorated in muted tones of grey, natural and white, with silver, Venetian mirrors and crystal chandeliers adding sparkle highlights. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and underfloor heating and the large Victorian windows can be opened to let the sea breezes in. All three upstairs bedrooms are sea facing and overlook the verandah, garden and heated pool. The master bedroom is spacious ample storage with a jacuzzi bath in the en suite bathroom. Children are accommodated in bunk beds (with television screens) and the twin room to one end has views of the sea and the Lion’s Head peak. The other two bedrooms lead off the conservatory downstairs. Bathrooms have heated towel rails and underfloor heating.

A state-of-the-art gas barbeque, a built-in outdoor fireplace and a heated jacuzzi are the focus of the elevated entertaining area to one side of the verandah, where an all-white, 12-seater dining table invites alfresco dining – under the shade of the umbrellas at breakfast or lunch or by soft candlelight in the evenings. The views from here at night as the bay lights up below are quite beautiful.

A billiard table and plasma screen feature in the games room off the central, wooden decked courtyard behind the house. Parking for five cars is available: three in the garage and two off-street. A dedicated butler is on call and Wi-Fi available throughout.
