Are you ready for this supreme 14 night Diamond safari? It includes the top safari lodge in Sabi Sand, Kruger area of South Africa, the most desirable camp in the Okavango Delta, relax in the colonies on the Zambezi River close to Victoria Falls, a touch of great East African plains in Tanzania’s Serengeti and finally, a chance to see mountain gorillas in Uganda. This itinerary gives you everything you ever wanted in a safari, all in one great adventure. Designed to show you the many faces of African safari, you get to contrast the dense bushveld of Kruger against the big skies and open plains of the Serengeti, each with its own allocation of big game animals. Victoria Falls adds the water element to this safari, and then it gets hot and steamy in the impenetrable Bwindi rainforest, in which the last mountain gorillas are to be found. This safari gets wilder with each step, so we ease you into the African Diamond experience at award-winning Singita Boulders lodge. This is in an area renowned for seeing leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Not a bad start! Then we head to Mombo - an intimate luxury tented camp in the wilds of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, with some of the most exciting game viewing in Africa. After all the early morning game drives, you need of a bit of colonial relaxation at The River Club right on the Zambezi River just upstream of Victoria Falls. Fit in some croquet on the lawn and a sundowner cruise before silver service dinner. After this you fly into Tanzania and stay at another significant Singita property in the Serengeti Grumeti Reserve. While there is year-round game, at certain times the wildebeest migration passes by and eats their way through the vast plains. The culmination of this truly Diamond-class safari is a real African adventure into the Virunga Mountains of southern Uganda, to see some of the last remaining mountain gorillas on earth. You may have to trek through thick undergrowth and along slippery slopes in search of these special creatures, but one sight makes it all worth while. Here’s a description of each accommodation. We will of course alter the itinerary to suit you or make recommendations for add on (perhaps a bit of beach after this)?

Singita Boulders, Sabi Sand, South Africa The creamy, dreamy interiors and high plump beds of a Singita Boulders bedroom are tempting not just because of their appealing style and comfort, but because the glass front of each suite looks out into the Sabi Sand game reserve. And, because there is a plunge pool just for you sunk into your wooden deck. You may feel that you don’t need to go anywhere at all, but there’s exquisite food to be tasted and of course lots of wildlife out there.
Superlatives come thick and fast from anyone who has visited Mombo Camp in the Okavango Delta. “Best game viewing, large luxurious tents, excellent service, spectacular setting, great sightings of leopard, lion, elephant, wild dog and hundreds of zebra, giraffe, impala … and the list goes on. If you want the very best safari in the world, there just isn’t a safari camp that tops Mombo.

Can you think of any better way to watch elephants or hippos in the river, than from a boat? This is why the Zambezi Queen triple-story houseboat is so perfect – it lets the game come to you. The four master suites on this floating hotel are bigger than the other ten suites, but all are luxurious with private balconies. Using eco-friendly principles, this master of design has quickly become the most sought after accommodation in this area known for amazing animals sightings.
Expect the best at Singita Grumeti in décor, service, environmental considerations and of course location; three locations to be exact, with a trio of Tanzanian safari lodges along the wildebeest migratory route of the Serengeti. Sasakwa manor house has deep verandas, stately furniture and individual infinity pools looking into ‘forever’. Faru Faru riverside lodge has an abundance of animals and mixes barefoot elegance with traditional botanical decorations in a contemporary setting. Sabora Tented Camp is for the romantic explorer who likes the idea of sleeping in a tent but with lavish fittings like silk curtains and Persian rugs.
The last mountain gorillas in the world live in this corner of volcanoes, where Uganda borders Rwanda and DRC. Be prepared for some wild times in the Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest, but return from a day of emotional encounters to Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp. This atmospheric camp on a high flat ridge in the forest has only eight tents and an airstrip 40-mins drive away. Despite enormous logistical problems they brought luxury into this remote area and you will thank them for the comfortable beds and bathtub with a view of the forest canopy.
