Planning the ideal African honeymoon with so many suitable venues is quite a task, but we put our minds together and have chosen places that are full of romance and special memories. We have come up with the most perfect 2-week honeymoon combining sophisticated Cape Town and Winelands, an African safari and a Seychelles Indian Ocean island retreat. First we visit Asara Wine Estate and Hotel in Stellenbosch. Your intimately private honeymoon tower accessed up a spiral staircase cocoons you in luxury. If you venture out you will find yourself in the heart of the Cape Winelands, surrounded by vineyards and historic buildings in the second oldest town in South Africa. It’s only a 40 minute drive from here into Cape Town and your next special location at the Twelve Apostles Hotel. This traditional Cape Dutch mansion is the only building along this stretch of Atlantic Coast, with rooms staring out to sea giving a wonderful watery sunset. Take advantage of the hotel transport to drive the ten minutes into Cape Town and see why this city is (we think) the most beautiful in the world. OK, you’ve spent enough time in bed, so it’s off on safari to Kruger and the Royal Malawane Private Game Reserve, favoured by the likes of Elton John and Bono. Along with leopard, lion, elephants and all the other African animals you might want to see, you must make time to visit the Royal Malewane Spa. It is the best in the bush by far and terribly romantic. After a few early morning safari drives, you will no doubt want to head for the beach. How about North Island, Seychelles? I get all dreamy describing this place because it is heaven on earth; eight individual chalets on exotic beaches and everything that honeymooners deserve. Here’s a longer description about each accommodation we have chosen for you: We wish to give offer you 4 destination over 2 weeks that complement each other perfectly and combine a feast of experiences. First we visit Asara in the Cape Town Wine lands, luxury is assured. In the wine lands one can soak up the atmosphere of mountainous vines and excellent wine tasting venues. A truly calming experience often enjoyed by my team and I From the wine lands we are 30 minutes from Cape Town and to the 12 Apostles hotel in Camps Bay, very private with postcard views enclosed in a traditional Cape Dutch mansion. In Cape Town one can shop, take the cable car up Table Mountain and tan on Clifton Beach. Or just stay at the hotel and make out. Now we go into the Kruger Park to the Royal Malawan private Game reserve, favored by Bono from U2. Here you can get in to traditional Africa, private game tours allow you to provide a photographic feast of the wild. Loins, Elephants, Hippos, Cheaters, sometimes the illusive Leopard and more of nature’s most beautiful beasts. Finally for and the longest and most traditional destination for a honey moon we fly to North Island in the Seychelles for complete R&R. North Island is a stunning private island containing 8 individual private chalets situated on exotic beaches.

Only top class hotels with fine cuisine can join Relais & Chateaux, and Asara is the only one in the Cape Winelands of Stellenbosch. Everyone agrees that the mountainous views are conducive to a romantic ambience and this can be enhanced by a bottle of bubbly Cap Classic delivered to your honeymoon suite. As you would expect from a 5-star small hotel, they offer numerous ways to enjoy yourself – why not book a massage, enjoy the pool and steam room, or ride a bicycle around the working wine estate.
3 night(s)
Truly one of the world’s best positioned hotels, this is why it appears on the 2010 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List as ‘One of the Best Places to Stay in the World.’ Elegant plush interiors in calm colours cannot hope to outdo what lies beyond the windows and every room has either an Atlantic Ocean or Twelve Apostle Mountain view. There is nothing but nature reserve surrounding you. All you need to do is lie back and enjoy.
Hidden amongst the trees of Thornybush Nature Reserve, alongside Kruger Park, Royal Malewane is the preferred safari destination of many rich and famous (who seclude themselves in the Royal Suites with attendant chef and butler). All suites offer considerable privacy and you can remain undisturbed beside your own swimming pool and thatched gazebo. But do venture along the path to the Royal Malewane Spa, where swathes of white linen screen off treatment rooms creating a courtyard dominated by a long lap pool. All divine therapies start with a ritual foot washing ceremony.
If you want that ‘died and gone to heaven’ feeling, you are going to love North Island. It has all the romance that the Seychelles are known for; coconut-palm beaches, tropical weather, warm-water and coral reefs. With such perfect natural surroundings you need little more than a shack on the beach – not here! North Island’s thatched villas are an enormous 420 square metres and flow from room to room and out onto the shoreline. You are expected to treat this as your own tropical retreat.
